Holiday Making Words Phonics Center

Description

Making words is an easy literacy center for students in first and second grades to use all year long! This printable and digital word work activity for Google Classroom™ helps reinforce phonics skills and how words work. Students manipulate the letters in various holidays words to see how many words they can create.

The skills reinforced by this activity include: initial and ending sounds, vowels, blends/digraphs, and affixes. Teachers may opt to model word work strategies with a small guided reading group or allow students to work independently.

Making Words Resource Includes:

You will receive 28 literacy centers with holiday words and themes that can be used all year long. For each holiday there is a digital option, colored recording sheet, black and white recording sheet, letters for students to manipulate, and pocket chart letters. There is also an EDITABLE version to add your own words!
